why we opened
Oasis Playscapes began its playground adventure with the simple ambition to help make play the best part of a child's day. Outdoor play is too often relegated to an oversimplified playground structure born from a factory and as characterless as the steel and plastic it’s composed of. When a playground is no longer rubber-stamped but customized in the shape of a child's imagination it becomes a refreshing & memorable experience. Locally sourced and hand-crafted, we believe in building better playgrounds.
what we’ve done
A diverse background in child advocacy (CCCNY, UNICEF), urban design & planning, sculpture & set construction - pulls together an original approach to creating playgrounds. Our earliest clients were child development centers seeking nature-based play environments where children can immerse themselves in a whole array of play activities. Learning from projects that revealed the intersection between child development, safety, and fun we have developed a unique skill-set applied routinely to play features and entire playgrounds.
where we’re going
Our newest direction has taken us to New Hampshire where we have opened a location to store and process black locust which serves our wood needs for developing new products but also assists regional contractor’s and landscape architects specifying black locust for nature-based playgrounds and parks. We are also focusing on developing new play features we’re including in new projects but also making available on order. Oasis continues to help make play the best part of a child’s day.
